Super Fight League 3 – Results & some strange happenings

Well if you didn’t tune in LIVE to the FREE event HERE on FSA then don’t worry, we still got you covered.

So mixed feelings about it all…. but overall i guess there were some decent fights.

Notable on the night is James Thompson def. Bobby Lashley via unanimous decision. Not the most amazing fight, but i think most thought Thompson (18w 17losses *before this fight) was going to be a ‘stepping stone’ for Bobby Lashley.

Well it didn’t pan out like that. Lashley (now 7-2) loses this fight and loses whatever ‘hype’ he may have had growing behind him.

The highlight for me was Zelg Galesic def. Doug Marshall via KO (flying knee) at 0:34 of the first round!

Galesic has sort of disappeared of the radar for some fans…. this fight should do  something to get him showing back up again. Not often you can jump in the air 30 seconds into a fight and get a clean Knockout.

Another quick first round KO was Kultar Gill def. Quinton Arendse with Punches at 51 seconds into the fight…. Ohh and we have his epic post fight celebration right here for you :)

WoW this was like the Indian Jose Aldo post fight on crack.

Now… looking at the youtube comments on the event, we are lead to believe there were some serious issues with the crowd and event management of tickets.

Apparently a lot and possibly most of the 12,0oo plus crowd (in a stadium capacity of 10,000) were given free tickets. This resulted in many being turned away – including fans who had purchased tickets.

—–Taken from the youtube comments on the live stream—–

“These guys just screwed a bunch of MMA fans over. The gates shut by 6 and no one was allowed inside even with valid tickets. Then the cops threatened us with physical violence when we wouldn’t leave. Fuck you SFL. Way to go, this is what happens when you add Bollywood to your shows, you get people who want to watch celebrities shake their asses and the people who do want to watch the fights are left hanging outside. Thank you for a whole bunch for nothing.”

‘We had tickets (which were a pain , and i mean a pain to get) and we got there on time. Parking was crazy, we had to park more than a kilometer away. and we got there, stood in line, waited and still got turned away. Well, that’s what we get for being real MMA fans here.”

You should tell Ken Pavia on twitter. I heard about a couple MMA reporters that had the same thing happen to them.
