DEEP are a frustrating organisation – immensely enjoyable shows, but no advancement, no international streams available, only a tedious wait to download the event (when possible) after which the results are more than likely already spoiled.
However, they’ll always hold a soft spot in my heart, and have hosted some of the truly great J-MMA fights in the last decade or so, including Filho/Minowa and Takaya/Carvalho, among others. The 50th show was a celebration, with the likes of Aoki competing (against Sithoar, the Muay Thai world champion) in honour of the promotion.
Now, they are holding an audition for a girl to fight on DEEP 58 IMPACT, on June 15, 2012. The article, loosely translated from Japanese (thanks, google) is as follows;
