Two juicy matchups for Phuket Top Team stars at One FC IV: Destiny of Warriors!
It is heavily rumoured that the fights to be signed for Messrs Adam Kayoom and Rodrigo Praxedes are to be all-black-belt affairs. Kayoom, from Malaysia, is a former WPMF middleweight World Muay Thai champion, and a decorated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt himself. His opponent is heavily rumoured to be Gregor Gracie, a member of the famous fighting family who founded Jiu Jitsu of the Brazilian variety itself and a tough opponent for anyone between 70 and 80kg in Asia. Praxedes, a Robson Moura black belt and undefeated thus far in his burgeoning Mixed Martial Arts career, faces a tough task with celebrated BJJ black belt from Sao Paulo, Marcos Escobar, a bronze medallist in the Brazilian and Pan-American games at brown belt, ADCC Alternates tournament winner and recent addition to the very Nova Uniao team that Praxedes was once part of.
With all four black belts possessing good stand-up (Kayoom’s being somewhat more than ‘good’) these are two grappler-versus-grappler contests that should entertain the crowd, with some slick and aggressive jiu-jitsu amalgamated with the potential for striking explosivity.
One FC: Destiny of Warriors is certainly shaping up nicely. These fights, along with Babalu/Mizuno and Imanari/Issa means that there are at least four fights on the main card that are sure to be intriguing stylistic affairs.
