Adam Kayoom of Phuket Top Team is a One FC contracted fighter, whose pedigree is as follows; Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, WPMF world Muay Thai champion, and former top 10 ranked Rajadamnern stadium fighter. With MMA being a combination of both grappling and striking, what better credentials could you ask for?
The veteran martial artist is set to host a seminar at Phuket Top Team today with no less than THREE other BJJ black belts, where beginners, intermediates and advanced alike are all more than welcome to come.
The Rajadamnern veteran, Muay Thai world titlist and former South Brazilian BJJ champion is in fight camp for his forthcoming battle with Gregor Gracie next week in One Fighting Championships IV: Destiny of Warriors. The event will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on June 23rd.
Professor Kayoom trains his jiu jitsu at Phuket Top Team under 3rd degree black belt Professor Olavo Abreu and fellow black belt and undefeated One FC fighter Professor Rodrigo Praxedes, comprising what is for sure the best BJJ Thailand has to offer. Also available is world class Muay Thai, boxing and wrestling, along with boxing and MMA sparring classes and strength and conditioning. Top Team is renowned as being a camp where serious fighters can prepare, as evidenced by the preparations this month for One FC, Road FC and Bellator with the fight team of Leone, Praxedes, Kayoom, Roger Huerta, JJ Ambrose and a handful of URCC and Asia-MMA fighters alongside them.
Here is an interview with Adam (interspersed with that of Professor Rodrigo Praxedes) talking about his career, life in martial arts and aspirations. The first minute and final seven minutes or so of the video is all Adam, uninterrupted. But feel free to watch in full, if you ever wondered if Praxedes preferred McDonalds or Jiu Jitsu, for example.
