After the initial reports that the two Lumpinee champs would meet in June, firmly rebuffed by Alamos’ manager Num Noi who had never been contacted, it now appears that this super-fight will indeed go down – in Paris!
THE CITY OF LOVE.
They say love conquers all, and in my life it most definitely will, but in this case I’ve got a feeling it will be the fists & shins that make the difference.
Damien Alamos is from the elite SingPatong gym in Patong, Phuket, under Num Noi, where Penek (Sportswriters Fighter of the Year & Lumpinee champion) Penthai (Lumpinee champion) and Charlie Boy Peters (WMC champion) all call home.
Saenchai is of course the best p4p fighter of a generation, perhaps ever. In 2012 he is still going strong, recently taking the WPMF world title and prior to that, imperiously outpointing Sagetdao for the Lumpinee Stadium lightweight championship.
2011 Fighter of the Year Sam-A will also appear on the France card, along with – we assume – a handful of as-yet unannounced French talent, and possibly English and Italians.
The card is as follows:
- Saenchai vs Damien Alamos
- Sam-A vs Yetkin Ozkul
- Prakaiseng vs TBA
- Petchmonkong Petchfocus vs Bobo Sacko
- Steve Zaidi vs Raphael Illodra
- Brian Denis vs Mikael Peynaud
