One of the biggest Muay Thai events on the calendar takes place tonight, in Phuket, Thailand!
Headlined by no less than FOUR world title fights sanctioned by the World MuayThai Council, the event – in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday – the card will take place in Bangla Stadium, Patong Beach, Phuket, due to complications regarding the usual site of the WMC King’s Cup and Queen’s Cup events in Bangkok.
The title fights are as follows:
- Charlie Boy Peters vs. Rolek DragonMuayThai
WMC Light-Middleweight (69kg) world title
- Tracy Lockwood vs. Gerry O’Callaghan
WMC female 69kg world title
- Claire Haigh vs. Nong Nan Jor Nguan
WMC female 61.5kg world title
- Sol da Luz vs. Tanyakorn Sor Tammajak
WMC female 53kg world title
Also featuring on the card is Jesse Robbins (featured here) from Phuket Top Team, Teresa SinbiMuayThai, Farida Okiko of LionMuayThai, and several amateur fights.
Enjoy the pictures, and stay tuned to this link http://www.tvkeela.com/live/ where the card will be streamed live at 10pm Thai time, today (August 12th).
Anyone in Phuket, I strongly advise you to rock on down to Bangla for a night of fun fights.
For once, the eyes of the Muay Thai world are on our stadium here, not on Bangkok or an international event, so this will be a celebration of Phuket Muay Thai. See you on Soi Bangla afterwards for a heavily limed shandy.
