Caged Rage Phuket: Tomorrow’s Preview

When I walk in the club, this is what I see,
A big fucking cage is staring at me,

Caged Rage Phuket and you know it.

Some classic caged Muay Thai & boxing action is imminent in Phuket, as Rawai’s Laguna nightclub plays host to the much publicised Caged Rage Phuket. All bouts will be contested in the cage, yet be conducted under Muay Thai rules barring the sole western boxing fight between Chope and… ahem, Lion’s Bee. There’s an interesting depiction of the natural world…

The pick of the fights, despite having prominent professional Mixed Martial Artists JJ Ambrose and Will Chope on the card, simply has to be that between PTT and Lion trainers Lucky & Jack. Both men have over one hundred and fifty victories in the ring, so it is a bout between two of the most experienced and talented 61-64kg fighters in Phuket and southern Thailand. And to add to the intrigue, it’s taking place, as aforementioned, in a cage.

The revised line-up is as follows:

• JJ Ambrose (Bellator fighter in MMA, Phuket Top Team) versus. Quentin Jitti Gym Bangkok (Jitti’s)
• Will Chope (URCC fighter in MMA, Phuket Top Team) versus. Bee (Lion Muay Thai)

• Lucky (Phuket Top Team – 150+ wins) vs. Jack (Lion Muay Thai, 150+ wins)
• Joseph “Spinning Back El-Joe” Adamson (Phuket Top Team) vs. <new opponent to be found>
• Steve Helgessen (Phuket Top Team) vs. Luke (Lion Muay Thai)
• Aden Baron (Phuket Top Team) vs. Tun (Lion Muay Thai)

“In the forever changing fight scene in Phuket it is no surprise to be seeing a event like this being set up. Muay Thai in a cage is going to be pretty brutal, concocting visions of underground illegal fights,Gangstas doing shady deals and blood splattering through the cage, who’s not going to want to watch that!

OK maybe my imagination is wandering a bit but all the same its going to be a good night.With a impressive main event with well known fighters JJ (Superman) Ambrose Vs Will (The Kill) Chope, Caged Rage Phuket has done well to pull that out of the bag. Both these fighters are world class competitors and we should count ourselves lucky to be able to watch these guys fight locally.

Phuket Top Team is going to have a heavy presence with a fighter in each fight. Including Jacksiam (Lion) vs Lucky (PTT). I should imagine this fight night will be far superior to any standard Bangla fight night down in Patong. With even match ups, correct weigh in’s and guys that genuinely want to win there fights, for 900 Baht a ticket it would be criminal not to go and watch.

My personal favorite thing about this event has to be the Commentator, Ray Elbe! a good friend and a man who thrives in the lime light. If it was ever gonna be boring it sure ain’t going to be now! Also plugged to fighting on future shows Elbe will be the host for the night keeping us updated and amused with his ‘Magical’ charm.
