Andrew ‘saja wang’ Leone

aka 사자 왕

Andrew’s nickname is pronounced Saja Wang and translates from Korean as Lion-King. Before Andrew fought in Korea for Road FC his nickname was originally Andrew ‘Lion-heart’ Leone. Being a huge fan of his current home at Road FC (the Korean powerhouse of MMA), Andrew decided to adopt the Korean version of his nickname.

Andrew leone 6-2 in Pro MMA and 11-2 in his career as an amateur and pro combined.

This fierce little flyweight from Phuket Top Team has taken Asian MMA by storm, with huge wins in Pro FC (Taiwan) and Road FC (Korea) and a signing to both Road FC and ONE FC.

Andrew made the move to join the very strong team at PTT and has been silently growing his skills and forging huge wins as he goes.

Most notable wins were against the talented Korean – So Chul Kim (Andrew put So Chul to sleep in under 1 min of the 1st round)

So Chul Kim has gone on to prove his skills with a recent win over the highly touted Kevin Belingon in One FC. Further showing Andrew’s level (given the win over So Chul was also while Andrew was fighting out of his weight division at the heavier bantamweight division)

Leone then went on to sign with Road FC, where he picked up a huge shock win (again out of his weight class – in the bigger bantamweight division) against the now UFC signed Hyung Ho Kang. (the two later met with Kang taking the win and then immediately signed with the UFC)

Andrew then picked up another win in the road fc bantamweight division over Min Jung Song.

After Andrew’s last loss to Hyung Ho Kang, he then decided to stick to fights in his own weight division – Flyweight.

Road FC have announced they will be looking for future Flyweight fights for the 사자 왕’ and will be looking to put Andrew Leone in the up-coming Road FC Flyweight tournament !

Let’s take a look at a nice short Doco. showing Andrew 사자 왕’ Leone, training/surfing and fighting based out of PPT in Thailand.

Andrew would like to say to his Korean fans and friends:

한국은 너무 당신이 사랑하는 주셔서 감사합니다.
나는 한국을 사랑!
