Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong Loses Controversial Decision on GLORY 7 Undercard

Far and away, one of the best 70kg Thai fighters on the market right now is the young Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong. Fresh off a destruction of Fabio Pinca, Sitthichai entered the GLORY 7 Milan ring riding a wave of promise. While he was initially matched up with Kyokushin fighter Davit Kiria, Sitthichai was demoted to the Oktagon undercard where he would face Enriko Gogohiya in what was advertised to be a full thai rules match.

Most people expected Sitthichai to run through Gogohiya, although the results were not announced before the main card began. All we heard was that the Thai superstar would most likely be getting a spot in the 70kg GLORY MAX tournament should he win.

What we got was a little different story. The video that surfaced recently on AllTheBestFights.com shows a rather lackluster Sitthichai outpointing Gogohiya over the course of three rounds. It was Gogohiya however, that had his hand raised in victory. We also saw a lack of elbows and clinching, which lends to the idea that the fight was not full thai rules at all.

What this means for Sitthichai is still nebulous at best. Will he still compete in the 70kg tournament? Will Gogohiya take his place? When will be the next time he appears in GLORY? These are all questions that we hope to find out in the near future. In the mean time, watch the fight video here and judge for yourself.
