Earlier today, rising promotion MAX Muay Thai unveiled four more fights for their second show in Jakarta, scheduled for June 29th.

As on every MAX card, a 4 man tournament composed of the top 67kg international talent in the world tops off the event, and is complimented by three to four bouts featuring Muay Thai standouts Aikpracha Meenayothin, Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, Duochonlek Sor Sorniyom, and Kem Sitsongpeenong.

In what should undoubtedly be one of the main attractions of the evening, Aikpracha Meenayothin will be stepping into the ring with GLORY and Shootboxing standout, Warren Stevelmans. Stevelmans is most recently coming off a loss against Albert Kraus at GLORY 5 London, but before that he was on an impressive 3 fight win streak against the likes of Bovy sor Undonson, Dzhabar Askerov, and Hinata Watanabe. Stevelmans is a very interesting name to bring under the MAX banner, considering he’s been known primarily as a kickboxer for the past few years. Facing off against the monstrous Aikpracha is a massive leap in Muay Thai competition since his fight with Buakaw back in 2011.

Also on the card, one of the best fighters at 70kg is set to makes his MAX debut as Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong faces Juri Kehl. Sitthichai hasn’t fought since his controversial loss against Enrike Gogokhiya at GLORY 7 Milan in late April, and will undoubtedly be looking to make a statement against Kehl. While Juri isn’t as well known as his brother, he is still undeniably skilled. However, Sitthichai will be far and away the most talented opponent he’s ever faced.

In possibly the most surprising match of the night, Duochonlek will be squaring off against Bellator fighter Alka Matewa. While Matewa is certainly more well known in the West for his short lived exploits in MMA, he has a very respectable kickboxing and Muay Thai record, even holding a win over Erkhan Varol. How he will fare in his return to stand-up striking against a very dangerous Thai is up for debate.

Finally, local fighter Yani Mandy faces Rick Granstad of Sweden in an undercard bout.

We currently have no word on Kem Sitsongpeenong or his opponent, but until announced otherwise we believe he is still participating in the event.
