Fresh off his win in Muay Thai Warriors last weekend, international veteran Rungravee Sasiprapa is returning to Cork, Ireland on October 12 against the famed Pornsaneh Sitmonchai in another great Siam Warriors main event.
This will be a great stylistic match-up, as both guys are well known for walking straight forward, throwing with power, and compiling highlight-reel fight footage in nearly every bout they participate in. Rungravee has been the more successful of the two recently, earning a slew of wins against primarily foreign opponents.
While Pornsaneh is coming off a loss (albeit in an amazing fight) against Yetkin Ozkul, one of the most dynamic fighters in the world stays busy fighting in the stadiums, and is still currently ranked in the top 10 at Lumpinee.
Besides the physical aspect of the fight itself, this bout is relatively momentous for other reasons. It’s extremely uncommon to see a Thai vs. Thai match outside of Thailand. Most promoters use Thai’s to add legitimacy to their cards, whether that be at French promotions like Best of Siam, Australian promotions like Evolution, or even American promotions like Lion Fight and M-1. Siam Warriors is stepping out of the box by putting two highly skilled Thai nak muays as a main event.
While Yokkao most recently attempted a similar main event with Kem and Yodsanklai, Siam Warriors is bringing the much lesser known lighter weights into the foreground to serve not just as “challenges” to home-town fighters, but as individuals worthy of recognition in their own right.
