UFC signs “The Korean Superboy” Doo Ho Choi

With the UFC recently signing Asian fighters left, right and center.

The worlds leading Mixed Martial Arts promotion hasn’t stopped, and have now penned Korean sensation Doo Ho Choi.

Sources close to the fighters camp confirmed the news with Fight Sport Asia earlier today.

Doo Ho Choi (11-1) began his career back in 2009. And after losing a closely contested Split Decision to Yusuke Kagiyama in 2010, Choi has notched up an impressive nine-fight win streak.

Since then the young phenom has made an instant impact on the Asian MMA scene defeating names like Nobuhiro Obiya, Mitsuhiro Ishida, Kosuke Umeda and Tatsunao Nagakura.

The 22-year old GUMI MMA affiliate was most recently involved with hard-hitting Shoji Maruyama in a Fight of the Year contender. Choi would go on to finish the contest via TKO in the second round.

Despite his young age the Korean shows improvements each time he steps foot inside the ring/cage.

What fans can expect from the young phenom is an aggressive striker with power in both hands that won’t back down, as you can see from his record, Choi has finished seven of his last nine fights by way of KO/TKO.

As of now no fight has been scheduled, but sources say his first bout will likely see him debut on the UFC’s return trip to Macau, China on March 2014.
