UFC Fight Night 34 gets another pair of Bantamweights added to the card when Dustin Kimura squares off against UFC newcomer Jon delos Reyes.
Sources close to the situation confirmed the match-up with FSA this past weekend.
Dustin Kimura (10-1) made waves competing in his native Hawaii fighting under promotions like X-1 and Destiny MMA. He would later face hard nosed Guy Delumeau at PXC 34, Kimura would finish his opponent via KO in the third round.
The UFC took notice and picked the submission savvy Hawaiian up at the beginning of the year to face Roufusport fighter Chico Camus, Dustin tapped his foe via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) in the third round after a back and forth grappling battle.
However, this past September left a sour taste in his mouth after he tasted defeat for the first time in his professional career when he faced off against Canada’s Mitch Gagnon at UFC 165.
Jon delos Reyes (7-2) will look to hand his opponent his second loss inside the Octagon when he makes his promotional debut at the turn of the next year.
The 26-year old is currently on a 4-fight win streak defeating all of his opponents by way of stoppage. His last loss came at the hands of Russell Doane back in 2010 when Reyes was forced to tap via Submission.
This will be his first fight back since September 2012 when he was able to submit Troy Bantiag via Submission (Armbar) in the first round.
Singapore will see a Welterweight clash serve as the Main event as hard hitting Jake Ellenberger looks to get back in the win column, while Tarec Saffiedine is itching to make an instant impact on his UFC debut.
Here’s how the card looks thus far:
