Naoyuki Kotani returns, faces Norman Parke at UFC Fight Night 46 in Dublin

A Lightweight contest has been penciled in for the UFC’s return trip to Dublin, Ireland later this year.

Northern Ireland’s Norman Parke welcomes back Japanese native Naoyuki Kotani, who returns to the Octagon seven years on.

Sources close to the situation confirmed the match-up with Fight Sport Asia in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Naoyuki Kotani (33-10-7), a Mixed Martial Arts veteran whose been involved in the sport for well over a decade, returns for a second stint under the bright lights of the UFC.

Since being released by the UFC back in 2007, Kotani has went on an incredible run on the Asian MMA scene, notching up an 18-3-2 resume. And is currently riding a thirteen-fight win streak, with eleven of those coming by way of stoppage. The last loss of his career came at the hands of fellow UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal in a closely contested Split Decision back in 2010.

The former ZST Lightweight Champion now crosses the pond for the third time in his professional career, where he looks to maintain his win streak and get his hand raised in his opponents backyard.

Norman Parke (19-2-1) signed with the UFC back in December of 2012, after winning The Ultimate Fighter: Smashes series defeating teammate Colin Fletcher in the Finale. Since making his way to the Octagon, Parke has went on to amass a 3-0-1 record under the worlds leading Mixed Martial Arts banner.

Parke, 26, was last seen earlier this year at UFC Fight Night 38, where he fought Leandro Santos to a Majority Draw. And prior to that, he went on to win Unanimous Decisions over Jon Tuck, Kazuki Tokudome and the aforementioned Colin Fletcher.

Now, Northern Ireland’s Norman Parke aims for a fourth Octagon win and first win of 2014 when the promotion touches down in Dublin, Ireland for a second time in the promotions history.
